The QualiDupont1000 Dupont Impact Tester is specifically designed to assess the impact resistance of coated materials. It comes equipped with five different-sized indenters, corresponding dies, and three distinct weight options.
To conduct an impact test on painted and coated materials, the procedure involves using an indenter with various rounded angles to make initial contact with the specimen. Subsequently, a selected weight is released from a specific height, striking the indenter and impacting the specimen.
This process is repeated for three additional specimens. After leaving them undisturbed for an hour, the coated surfaces are examined for any signs of damage, such as cracks or deformations.
The tester is fully compatible with ASTM D 2794 and JISK 5400.
