QT-CMT - Conical Mandrel Bend Tester

The QT-CMT Conical Mandrel Tester is designed to assess the cracking and flexibility of paint coatings on metal panels. These panels are clamped in position and formed around the conical mandrel by rotating the roller frame. The coated surface, subjected to standard conditions, is evaluated for crack resistance and detachment from the metal substrate. This tester complies with ASTM D 522, D1737, BS 3900E11, and ISO 6860 Standards.

This instrument enables easy identification, in a single operation, of coating failures at specified diameters over part or the entire length of the mandrel.
