    Rain Test Chamber is primarily used to test the waterproofing of various products such as automotive parts including headlamps, tail lights, wipers, electronic products (according to IEC 60529, JIS, SAE standards), navigation systems, and many other applications in defense, aerospace, and research & development. Our IPX series Rain Spray Test Chambers features a self-contained water recirculation system that eliminates the cost and inconvenience of plumbing in a facility water supply. Water is injected into the test enclosure through specifically sized nozzles. Flow meters with adjustment valves supply the water spray at specified flow parameters. A rotating test platform can be incorporated in the Water Spray Test Chamber to promote even moisture distribution over the surface of the products under test.

    Designed to simulate a soaking, rainy environment, Qualitest’s Rain Spray Test Chambers are built with the water-tightness of sealed components such as automotive or electronic parts making them ideal for conducting a water spray test.

    Qualitest’s range of Rain Spray Test Chambers are available in many configurations. We have the engineering design capabilities and experience to customize rain test chambers to meet your special configurations or performance specifications.

    Rain Test Chambers provide the appropriate water coverage as required by Automotive codes, as well as Ingress Protection (IP) according to EN 60529 / DIN 40050 / IEC 60529, a standard to classify product performance regarding ingress protection.

    Degrees of protection (IP code) provided by enclosures of the electrical equipment of road vehicles. It specifies the following:

    1. Designations and definitions of types and degrees of protection provided by enclosures of electrical equipment (IP codes) for the:

      • Protection of electrical equipment within the enclosure against ingress of foreign objects, including dust (protection against foreign objects);
      • Protection of persons against access to hazardous parts inside the enclosure (protection against access);
      • Protection of electrical equipment inside the enclosure against effects due to ingress of water (protection against water);

    2. Requirements for each degree of protection;

    3. Tests were carried out to confirm that the enclosure complies with requirements of the relevant degree of protection.
